Location | Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Colonel William Light, one of Adelaide’s founding fathers, laid out the gridiron design of the city close to the Torrens river. The layout is interspaced by wide boulevards and large public squares, and entirely surrounded by a green belt of 1700 acres of parkland separating downtown from the suburbs. Ebenezer Howard, has even acknowledged Light’s garden-city-like plan of Adelaide in his book Garden Cities of To-morrow.
